All Fotosound cameras and lenses are priced from UK RRP with UK VAT removed and 5% Jersey GST added. The price you see already includes GST.
How the price is worked out
Clear from RRP to checkout
We begin with the UK recommended retail price, remove the 20% UK VAT included in that price by dividing the RRP by 1.20, then add Jersey GST at 5%. This is equivalent to multiplying UK RRP by 0.875, so the standard Fotosound price is 12.5% below UK RRP and already includes Jersey GST. We then apply any discounts to this price.
This example is illustrative. The relevant UK RRP is used for each camera or lens, and promotional prices may be lower.
The price you see is the price you pay
Straightforward local pricing
Fotosound camera and lens prices are derived from the applicable UK VAT-inclusive RRP. We divide UK RRP by 1.20 to remove UK VAT at 20%, then multiply by 1.05 to add Jersey GST at 5%. This is the same as UK RRP × 0.875, giving a standard price 12.5% below UK RRP.
The amount displayed on the product page and in store is already inclusive of Jersey GST. You do not need to calculate tax or add another 5% at checkout.

We use the manufacturer's current UK recommended retail price for the camera or lens.
Remove UK VAT
Because UK RRP includes 20% VAT, we divide the UK RRP by 1.20 to find the VAT-exclusive price.
Add 5% Jersey GST
We multiply the VAT-exclusive price by 1.05 to add Jersey GST. The price shown online and in store already includes it.
